Norway announces more that $270 million in aid to Ukraine’s energy sector

According to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway has increased its overall support for Ukraine’s Energy Sector to 3 billion Kroner (approximately $274.2 Million) as part of a broader aid program.
This includes the 1.5 billion kroner (117 million dollars) newly allocated to prepare Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in preparation for winter.
“We are working on providing more support in energy and look forward to bringing good news to our Ukrainians friends during the fall and winter,” Norwegian foreign minister Espen Barth Eide stated.
The remaining amount will be divided into three parts: 1.1 billion kroner (86 million dollars) will go towards the purchase of energy equipment via the UN Development Program; 500 million kroner (39 million dollars) will go toward the World Bank Support Facility; and 740 millions kroners ($58 million) are designated for humanitarian assistance to help Ukrainians prepare themselves for the winter.
This energy aid comes just days after the Norwegian government announced an allocation up to 967 millions kroner ($87.5 million) for its industry with a special focus on Ukraine.
According to the Kiel Institute’s Ukraine Support Tracker, Norway is ranked 12th globally in terms of the amount provided to Ukraine. It has provided $2.6 billion worth of humanitarian, financial and assistance.
Viktor Orban, the Hungarian prime minister, wrote that “what (Zelensky), outlined yesterday in Ukraine’s parliament is more than frightening,” and urged leaders to begin talks with Moscow as soon as possible.
In an interview with The Washington Post on October 17, Trump blamed the U.S., Ukraine and other leaders for the war. He did not mention Russian President .

The change could delay the Ukrainian squadron’s readiness for the battlefield by several months.

On October 17, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the victory plan included placing conventional missile capability in Ukraine, which would either force Russia into negotiations or destroy their military targets.
Dmytro Plenchuk, a Ukrainian Navy spokesperson, said that just because Russia deploys cruise missile carriers on the sea does not mean the ships will be used in an attack.
On October 17, President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in to present his five point victory plan to Charles Michel, the president of the European Council.
The Ukrainian Southern Defense Forces revealed and attacked a Russian military training facility on October 15, posting footage of the attack.
