Norway Increases Aid to Ukraine
The Norwegian government has agreed to give more money to help Ukraine. The country’s parliament voted on November 28 to increase aid from 30 billion kroner (about $2.7 billion) to 35 billion kroner (about $3.16 billion) in 2025.
Norway originally proposed giving only 15 billion kroner ($1.4 billion), but opposition parties said that was not enough. After talks, the government and opposition agreed on a higher amount, which was then increased again.
The Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, said this extra help is important for both Ukraine and those who are attacking it. He meant countries like Russia.
This decision builds on a previous agreement to give 75 billion kroner (about $6.8 billion) to support Ukraine through 2027. The government has also proposed expanding the aid program to 135 billion euros (about $142 billion) and extending it to 2030.
