**Student Protest in Novi Sad**
Students from the University of Novi Sad held a protest march on Thursday. They were protesting against the arrest of six students, activists, and professors.
The protest was called after an audio recording was published by pro-regime media. The defense lawyers claim that the recording was obtained illegally. The protesters believe that the arrests are unfair and want answers from the authorities.
**Questions to the Authorities**
During the march, the students made two stops in the city. At the courthouse and prosecutor‘s office, they pasted questions on the doors. These questions were:
* Under whose order are selective arrests taking place?
* Why do they allow persecution of citizens, activists, and students?
* By what criteria are students, activists, and professors remanded in custody without evidence?
**Protest Reaches BIA**
The second stop was at the Security Intelligence Agency (BIA) building. A line of police officers was deployed along the entire building with a metal fence in front of them. The protesters asked questions about illegal wiretapping and how an unauthorized recording made its way into the tabloids.
**Academic Support**
Professors from the Free University, a group of academics who are not part of the official university system, supported the protest. They believe that the arrests are a dangerous precedent that could jeopardize the rights of all citizens.
