Fewer Refugees in Serbia.
The number of migrants in Serbia has decreased by a lot. According to the Serbian Refugee Commissariat, there were 19,483 migrants in refugee centers last year. This is much fewer than in 2023 when there were many more refugees.
Most of these migrants came from Syria and Afghanistan. There were also some from Turkey, Morocco, and Iraq. On average, they stayed in Serbia for about two weeks. This is a bit longer than the previous year but shorter than in 2022.
Currently, only a small number of migrants are staying in collective housing. There are just 416 of them at present, which is only about one-tenth of the country‘s capacity to house refugees.
