NYT: NATO changes its defense strategy

The New York Times reports that the North Organization has “spared no effort” to become military capable of waging a again, following Russia’s invasion.
The alliance will change its strategy in particular. In the past it was thought that in the case of a Russian invasion the temporary occupation of territory by the members of alliance was acceptable, until additional forces arrived.
Nevertheless, after the crimes committed in Ukraine by , Eastern are not willing to risk falling into Russian occupation.
The new defense strategy aims to make NATO forces “visible” in Russia and demonstrate to Moscow that the alliance can resist the first stage of an possible war.
NATO plans to spend more on defense and deploy more near Russia’s border in order to increase “visibility”.
