Public Defender’s Representatives Visit Citizens After Rally
The Public Defender of Georgia visited 16 people who were arrested during a recent rally. They spoke to 14 people in temporary isolation cells and 2 people in the clinic.
According to their report, 10 out of 16 people said they were mistreated or hurt by police while being held.
The Public Defender’s office is asking for an investigation into what happened. They want it to be done quickly and properly. They also gave investigators footage showing possible abuse of power by police and interference with journalists.
The Public Defender will keep track of the investigation to see how well it’s handled.
