Ukraine Captures Korean Soldiers in Kursk Region

Two North Korean soldiers have been captured by Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region. The soldiers were wounded but survived and are now being questioned by investigators from Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU).

The other prisoner is older, born in 1999, and claims to have been a sniper-reconnaissance specialist in the North Korean since 2016. He does not have any identification documents on him.

Their capture occurred on January 9, 2025, after separate attempts by Ukrainian soldiers and paratroopers from Tactical Group No. 84 of the Special Operations Forces.
