**North Korean Troops in Ukraine Suffer Heavy Casualties**
Over 1,000 North Korean soldiers have been injured in fighting with Ukrainian forces in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. This was revealed by South Korean MP Lee Sung-kwon.
The high casualty rates are due to the lack of experience that North Korean troops have with terrain and drone warfare. They were sent to Ukraine to help oust Ukrainian troops, but their performance has been poor.
**North Korea Sends Thousands to Ukraine**
According to Western officials, Pyongyang dispatched over 10,000 soldiers to Ukraine in early August. However, they have struggled to adapt to the new environment.
Their lack of knowledge about drones has made them a burden rather than an asset for the Russian military, Lee Sung-kwon said.
**Russia Hides North Korean Casualties**
The full extent of North Korean losses might be hard to know because Russia is trying to hide the casualties. President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has also confirmed this.
