**Ukraine to Introduce Rules for Demobilizing Military Personnel**
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry plans to create rules for discharging soldiers from service. This will allow soldiers who have been serving for a long time, even since the start of Russia’s war in 2022, to be demobilized.
There is currently no law that allows soldiers to leave their jobs. Soldiers can only be discharged if they are injured or need to take care of a family member with a disability. The Defense Ministry has promised to finalize the new rules by December 18 this year.
**Soldiers Have Been Serving for Years**
Many Ukrainian soldiers have been serving continuously since February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine. They can only be discharged if they meet certain conditions, but there is currently no clear process in place.
**Parliament’s Request**
The Defense Ministry was asked by parliament to create a law on how to discharge soldiers from service. The ministry has promised to finalize the draft law within the time set by parliament.
**New Rules Needed**
Ukraine adopted new laws this year that make it easier for the military to find and recruit eligible conscripts. However, there is currently no clear process in place for demobilizing soldiers who have been serving for a long time. The new rules are expected to address this issue.
