Today is a very important date. Oleksiy Gontcharenko, a Ukrainian Rada deputy, said in a video message before leaving Tbilisi that Viktor Orban, the Hungarian prime minister, will be coming to Tbilisi to try to strengthen the current ruling party’s position after the elections, which were bought by Bidzina Ilvanishvili.
Orban, according to him, was the first person to congratulate Georgia’s ruling party before the results were announced, which is disgusting.
“Now he comes here to show support from the international community. I also haven’t forgotten that Orban is the new chairman of the European Council. I hope that the European Union will make it clear that Orban’s actions are not in his capacity as the chairman of European Council but under his own authority. This is disgusting,” Goncharenko said.
He responded to today’s action planned by the opposition and noted that only the people can change the current situation.
“Today the opposition, along with President Zurabishvili is beginning protest actions. We’ll see what happens today. It’s obvious that Russia is tracking, watching and trying to influence Georgia. Many Russian propagandists are in Georgia, and they support the ruling parties. Now I hope that this is the only force which can change the current situation for the Georgians. The future of Georgia will be determined by what happens in the next few days. “Long live Georgia”, Goncharenko said.
