Group of Experts Publishes Conclusion on Mzia Amaglobeli’s Health
A group of specialists, established by the Public Defender of Georgia, has released a conclusion on the medical condition of journalist Mzia Amaglobeli.
According to the information, doctors visited Amaglobeli at the VivaMedi clinic on February 7 and 12. The patient underwent all necessary medical examinations during her stay at the clinic.
The group of experts found that Amaglobeli’s health was not as bad as it could have been after 27 days without food. Her weight loss was only 10% of her initial weight, and she did not show severe signs of anemia or acidosis.
The doctors also noted that Amaglobeli had no severe heart problems, and her vision, hearing, and smell were normal. However, they warned that her condition could deteriorate rapidly if she continues the hunger strike.
The group of experts recommended that Amaglobeli stop the hunger strike and start eating according to special guidelines. They also advised her to continue treatment at the clinic.
A separate report by doctor Giorgi Javrishvili found that Amaglobeli had a serious eye condition, known as keratoconus, which was not being treated properly.
The conclusion by the group of experts and doctors Javrishvili agreed with each other in their diagnosis and treatment plan.
