The Russian forces fired a S-300 rocket at a police station in Kharkiv’s central area, the second-largest Ukrainian city.
A Russian S-300 rocket struck a police post in a densely-populated residential area of central Kharkiv, resulting in the deaths of 46 people.
Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, is located approximately 30 kilometers away from the Russian border. It has been subjected to a series of attacks that have focused on densely-populated neighborhoods. These attacks often result in civilian deaths and extensive property damage. Due to restrictions on long-range weapons, Ukraine is not permitted to strike remote bases from which Russians launch these attacks.
Oleh Syniehubov is the Governor of Kharkiv Oblast. He said that the Russian attack killed policeman Andriy Mathviyenko, who was 40 years old.
On 1 November, an attack by Russian missiles on a police deployment centre in central Kharkiv resulted in the death of Andriy Mattviyenko, a 40-year-old policeman.
The attack also injured 46 other people.

The storm also caused extensive damage in 14 residential buildings, local infrastructure including heating and water networks.
Rescue operations were conducted by emergency response teams from multiple jurisdictions including the garrisons of the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv and Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as the Special Rapid Response Center. According to the State Emergency Service of the Kharkiv Oblast the crews removed around 200 cubic meters of debris.
Medical teams are treating police officers who suffered critical injuries during the attack.
