**Ukraine-U.S. Relations: Ukrainians Think West Holds Back Military Aid**
A recent survey conducted in Ukraine found that over half of the respondents believe Western countries are holding back military aid to Ukraine because they fear Russia will lose the war.
The poll, carried out between February 5 and March 10, questioned 2,029 people. The results showed that 17% of those surveyed completely agreed with the statement, while 34.2% said they would rather agree.
**Most Ukrainians Think West Holds Back Military Aid**
Another 21.3% said they would rather disagree with the statement, and 17.7% strongly disagreed. These numbers suggest that most Ukrainians believe Western countries are not providing enough support to Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
The survey was conducted at a time when relations between the U.S. and Ukraine were strained. In February, President Volodymyr Zelensky had a heated argument with U.S. President Donald Trump, which led to a freeze on intelligence sharing and military aid to Ukraine.
**European Officials Consider Stepping Up Support**
Given this rhetoric and policy shift, European officials are considering stepping up their support for Kyiv. In 2024, Ukraine’s leader said that Western countries want Russia to lose the war in such a way that it doesn’t look like they lost at all.
