**Gazans Resist Trump Plan**
Most Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are against a plan by US President Donald Trump to take over the war-torn territory. They have already experienced forced displacement, and many are determined to stay.
Residents of a tent camp in Deir al-Balah expressed shock and defiance at the idea of being resettled outside. One resident, Mahmoud BAHJAT, said, “We won’t leave Gaza, even if it means losing our souls.” He added that displacing people would end their lives, just like what happened in 1948 when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were forced to leave their homes.
Jamalat Wadi, a mother of four, spoke out against the plan. She said her family has already sacrificed enough and wants to build a new home on the land they currently occupy. “We’ve endured a year-and-a-half of war,” she said. “Now we want to live in peace.”
Many Gazans feel that Trump’s proposal is unrealistic. One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “If only one drop of our children‘s blood remains, we will not leave Gaza.” He also noted that the small coastal area has become uninhabitable due to war and poverty.

Israeli officials have welcomed Trump’s plan, saying it offers fresh thinking on a long-running conflict. However, others have expressed skepticism, including the Israeli anti-occupation NGO Peace Now. They said there is no feasible way to move two million Gazans outside and that forced displacement would lead to more instability in the region.
