Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of Parliament at the opening ceremony for the Climate Law Development process, stated: “I believe that Parliament and society will resume the real policies which are important for our people. These subject projects and the consideration of these laws allow us to provide more to our community, more interesting and intense discussion. “The political discussion covers the majority of the agenda, but the real and important policy for the people can sometimes be left in the shadow. It is therefore an honor to take part in such events.”
The Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee and WFD jointly organized the opening ceremony of the Climate Law Development process.
The Speaker emphasized the importance of these events, noting how the political agenda often dominates the discussion while the real policy that is based on human needs is often overlooked.
“We are still a country in transformation and economic development. Every issue is framed in terms of regulation. We identify the stages of regulation and the directions for sustainable development in economics, social, etc. In this regard, the Environmental Committee demonstrates this very special expertise which is a treasure in our parliament. I think we will have some interesting discussions in the future regarding the legislative activity. It is the topic that has a supra-party nature. This will allow us to find the issues to reconcile and deriving our common future to make a joint decision.”
He thanked WFD and Parliamentary Democracy for organising the event.
