EU Introduces Visa Restrictions for Georgian Diplomats
The European Union has decided to impose restrictions on diplomats and government officials from Georgia. They will now need a visa to travel to the EU.
This decision was made by the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski. He said that the EU wants to support the people of Georgia who are demanding democratic change.
Herczynski expressed concern about the violence and intimidation in Georgia. He said that many people, including journalists and politicians, have been beaten or threatened. No one has been punished for these actions.
The EU is not trying to punish ordinary Georgians who want a better future. Instead, they are targeting those responsible for the repression and violence. By requiring diplomats and government officials to get a visa, the EU is sending a message that it will not tolerate such behavior.
Herczynski emphasized that the EU stands with the people of Georgia who are fighting for democratic values and a European future. They admire the resilience and determination of the Georgian people.
