Germany’s Ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, has spoken out about the case of journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli.
Fischer is concerned about the charges against Amaghlobeli and her pretrial detention. He thinks they are too harsh.
The ambassador met with editors from two Georgian newspapers and Amaghlobeli’s lawyers. They discussed the situation.
Fischer saw a video of an incident where someone slapped Amaghlobeli. He wonders why she is being treated so unfairly.
