The conclusion of Helsinki Commission is a critical conclusion, and another proof to those people that Kobakhidze and “Georgian Dream”, the government, are trying to mislead – they have damaged relationships so much and removed masks to such an extent, it is impossible to repair these relations [with partners], – about this “Unity – General Secretary of National Movement, Petre tsiskarishvili told journalists about the Helsinki Commission’s conclusion.
According to him the “Georgian Dream” will not allow the dream of joining Europe and the bridge with the United States that is broken cannot be repaired. “The Helsinki Commission’s conclusion is another critical conclusion, and another proof to those people that Kobakhidze and “Georgian Dream ” authorities are trying mislead. They tell people: “As long as the war is finished, and as long as we win the election, our relations with the West can begin on a fresh page. The practically broken bridge, and the strained, deteriorating relationships that we have with strategic partners, will be reset.” In reality, it is impossible to achieve this in “dream” conditions. They damaged the relationship so much and removed the mask so much that they showed our Western Partners that they had absolutely different political and other values and aspirations from the Georgians, that the restoration is unimaginable, and that it will simply not work. If “GD” is still in power, we won’t be able to access the European Union without a visa. The dream of joining the European Union is no longer possible. And the bridge that has been broken with the United States will not be able to be repaired. This is the sad reality we will face if the “dream”, through falsification and violence, managed to maintain the current government. I’m certain that tomorrow, hundreds of thousands will gather in the centre of Tbilisi to protest against the regime. One week before the election, they will share their views with all of Georgia and its Western partners. Petre Tsiskarishvili said that on October 26 he would bring this case to a close.
Tsiskarishvili also answered the question about the presentation of technical government. According to him, it is not mandatory to do this before the elections. “It’s not in the charter that the government has to be named before elections. The Charter outlines many important reforms to which we remain committed and intend to implement regardless of the government. I am confident that if the opposition wins, and the “Unity National Movement“, takes the top spot, a new government will be formed with the following priorities: withdrawal of the Russian law, justice reform, returning to the path of EU membership, and opening negotiations with Brussels. In parliamentary republics such as ours, the formation takes place only after the people make a decision, after the electorate speaks, and when the parties redistribute their parliamentary mandates. This is how the government is formed. All political, legal, and constitutional logic points in this direction,” said Petre Tiskarishvili.
