Students in Serbia are protesting against their government.
For more than 2 months, students have been demonstrating across the country. They want answers about a tragedy that happened at Novi Sad Railway Station. 15 people died there.
The protests are special because they come from university students. These students are harder to stop or silence than other groups opposing the government.
According to Tonino Picula MEP, it’s not easy for the students to be chased away with force. They also can’t be bought off with promises of jobs or benefits.
Picula says the students have a problem: they need to decide what to do next. Do they want to make clear demands about politics? If so, they’ll have to say how they want Serbia to change.
