PM: The Exemplary Partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan will Contribute to More Stability in the South Caucasus

Georgia and Azerbaijan enjoy a solid economic partnership, a strategic partnership and, most importantly, friendship. This was stated by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli during a meeting of Georgia-Azerbaijan’s intergovernmental economic committee held at the .
Irakli Garibashvili noted that Georgia-Azerbaijan relations were unique over the last millennium and in recent years.
“We have excellent neighbourly relations and a strong relationship.” We are grateful to have had the opportunity to host Ilham Alyev a few months earlier. His visit to Georgia was pivotal. We discussed the current strategic plans and projects, which we will continue to discuss.
“I’m pleased to that the sessions of the joint commission have recently become more active. Last year, I had the honor of participating in this commission. I also want to mention that this year marks 30 years since the beginning of diplomatic relations.
“Our peoples and our countries have perfect understanding, friendship and this relationship is strengthening. I must stress that we will contribute, through exemplary partnership, to a more stabile South Caucasus. It is our shared aim, our shared ambition, to see a region that is stable and will serve as a foundation for economic and prosperity of our peoples”, the Prime Minister said.
– Prime Minister of Azerbaijan – said that the visit of delegation to Georgia would contribute to the strengthening of mutually beneficial relations between Azerbaijan & Georgia.
According to him the relations between Georgian and Azerbaijan are at the level of strategic partnerships today and the relationship between the two countries is expanding in all spheres.
“We value this visit highly. I believe that the visit will continue to build the mutually beneficial Azerbaijan-Georgia partnership. The intergovernmental meeting is a great opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen our relationship and expand our fields. Azerbaijan has also worked with Georgia major megaprojects. We’ll have a chance to discuss it,” Ali Asadov said.
Azerbaijani Prime Minister said that Azerbaijani-Georgia relations are as old as our peoples and nations. He stressed that the and Azerbaijanis share a long history of good neighborliness and mutual respect.
“Our nations’ relationships have now advanced to the level strategic partnership.” Our contacts are expanding in all areas including politics, energy, transportation and culture. Our relationships are growing and we support each other in improving in different sectors. “I think that the documents we signed today with your participation would speed up this process even more,” Azerbaijan Prime Minister said.
Ali Asadov said that Azerbaijan has always supported Georgia on a global level.
“Mr Prime minister, our economic relations are flourishing. We have always supported each other’s territorial and integrity. Georgia is Azerbaijan’s main trading partner; our trade volume increased by 3% in this year. This development, in light of the current pandemic, and the challenges facing the world economy, shows that there is more potential between our countries. We will be able further strengthen these relationships,” said Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister.
As a matter of fact, Prime Minister Ali Asadov of the Republic of Azerbaijan is on an official visit to Georgia.
A formal welcome ceremony was held at the Georgian Government’s administration.
