Georgia Honors Holocaust Victims
Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day by remembering the millions of people who died in the Holocaust. This day is held on January 27 to honor the victims.
The Prime Minister said that the world must never forget what happened during the Holocaust. He urged everyone to prevent policies based on hatred and intolerance.
The memory of those who suffered in the Holocaust is a reminder to governments and nations to build a peaceful, respectful, and cooperative world. This means working together to make sure such a tragedy can never happen again.
This day remembers the people killed by Nazi Germany during World War II. The 27th of January is also the date when the Auschwitz Concentration Camp was freed by Soviet soldiers in 1945.
