**Poland Deports 17 Georgian Citizens**
The Polish government has deported 17 Georgian citizens from the country. According to reports, these individuals were Georgian men between the ages of 24 and 58 who had a “criminal past” or were in Poland without legal residence permits.
The deportations were carried out by the Polish border guards, who said that the Georgians were transported from guarded centers throughout Poland. The move has been welcomed by Polish authorities, who say it is part of their efforts to tackle crime and gang activity.
**Crime Statistics Rise**
Crime statistics from Warsaw have shown a surge in crimes committed by Georgian nationals. In 2024, police detained 1895 Georgian citizens allegedly involved in criminal activity, with 532 offenses occurring in the capital city alone.
**Similar Actions Taken Elsewhere**
Poland’s actions are not isolated. Ireland has also taken similar steps, deporting 32 Georgian nationals on a chartered flight earlier this year. The move suggests that other countries may be following suit in taking action against criminal activity by Georgian citizens.
