In an interview with Poland’s national media agency PAP on 21 October, Wladyslaw Bartoszewski, deputy foreign minister of Poland, said that Poland would request access to classified documents related to Ukraine‘s victory strategy.
The plan, which was recently presented by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is composed of five points public and three annexes secret: joining NATO, strengthening defense and targeting Russian territories, with a secrecy annex, deterring Russian aggressors through a nonnuclear package with restricted access, boosting Ukraine’s economic and strategic potential, including an annex to the US and EU, and a plan for a post-war, where Ukrainian forces would replace US
Bartoszewski made his comments after Poland was excluded from a high-level US President Joe Biden meeting and allegedly from the list of countries that received Zelenskyy’s victory plan details. The meeting took place on 18 October 2024 and included French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Bartoszewski said to PAP that “we have provided Ukraine with military aid in the most critical way.” When Germany was talking about sending helmets, Bartoszewski said, “We sent them 320 tank.” “Our contribution has been evidently substantial, especially at the beginning when it was most required.”
PAP claims Zelenskyy stated that the files of the plan “have been given only to those countries which have the means to help Ukraine.” He allegedly added that it would be pointless to share them with countries without such means, regardless of whether they were close allies.
Bartoszewski stated that the Polish Foreign Ministry would discuss this issue with Ukrainian officials, highlighting the ongoing communication between the two countries. He also said that Ukraine’s rebuilding would be impossible without Polish involvement.
