They have identified Velyka Novosilka and Bohoiavlenka as potential targets for Russia’s next offensive. In Pokrovsk, a key Ukrainian logistics hub, critical infrastructure has been severely damaged by Russian forces, causing a significant decrease in the town’s population.
There have been reports of Ukrainian drones targeting Russian distilleries in Voronezh and Belgorod oblasts, despite Russian claims of intercepting these drones. In a major development, a Russian Sukhoi S-70 Okhotnik stealth drone was shot down above Ukraine, providing valuable intelligence on Russian stealth technology and autonomous combat systems. Ukraine has also released footage of successful covert operations aimed at capturing gas platforms near Zmiinyi Island.
The Russian Armed Forces have been increasingly deploying unidentified drones alongside their Shahed drones, in an attempt to overwhelm Ukrainian air defenses and gather intelligence. In international news, five Republican senators have criticized Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for his close ties with Russia and China. Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico is attempting to convince Ukraine to extend their gas transit contract with Gazprom, which is set to expire in 2024. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will present his “victory plan” at a meeting in Ramstein in October, which has been discussed with US officials. In response to the ongoing conflict, Poland has announced plans to fortify their borders with Russia and Belarus.
