Police Detain 3 People for Group Violence
The police have arrested three people who were involved in group violence during a protest on Rustaveli Avenue. This was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the ministry, an investigation found that the three individuals had committed violent acts as part of a group. They also resisted and disobeyed police officers trying to maintain order. The police report says they threw objects at law enforcement.
The charges against these people are serious. If convicted, they could face up to 9 years in prison.
The investigation is ongoing under Georgian laws that deal with group violence. Other protesters have been detained as part of this case.
In total, 26 people have been arrested by the Ministry of Internal Affairs during their investigation into the events on Rustaveli Avenue.
