Police Interrupt Student Tribute to Honor Injured Person
On Friday, a police patrol escorting student marchers was ordered to stop the group’s 16 Minutes of Silence tribute. The students were marching from the village of Baras in Vojvodina to Belgrade as part of an effort to “wake up” the country.
The silent tribute was extended to 16 minutes because one person injured in a building collapse at Novi Sad Railway Station on November 1 had died in a hospital.
During the tribute, police ordered the patrol to move the students off the road. The officers said they could not block international highways.
