Police in Western Georgia Arrest Four Foreigners for Drug Crime
The police in the Zugdidi District have arrested four people from Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Romania. They are accused of breaking laws related to drugs.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the crime these people are accused of can get them up to 20 years or even life imprisonment.
The four people arrested are D.A., A.E., A.V., and N.M. The police say they found a large amount of cocaine and methadone when they searched their homes and vehicles.
The police seized 54 packages of narcotics during the search. This is being considered as evidence against the accused.
The investigation is ongoing under Article 260 of the Georgian Criminal Code, which deals with the illegal possession and acquisition of large quantities of narcotics.
