What we saw at the elections of October 26 does not bring Georgia nearer to the European Union or NATO, but it distances it – stated the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
According to the agency a number information confirms the violation of electoral procedures and the unprecedented use of administrative resources by the ruling party undermines the principle of equality and freedom of the process as well as the results of the actual elections.
“President Zurabishvili, and the Georgian Opposition have questioned the integrity” of the elections. Many facts confirm the violation of electoral procedures and the unprecedented use of administrative resources on the part of the ruling party. This undermines the principle and results of the election itself, as well as the principle of equality and freedom.
We believe that Georgia belongs to Europe and that the Georgian people deserves to achieve their dreams and goals – to secure Georgia’s European and Euroatlantic future.
Unfortunately, the results of the October 26 elections did not bring Georgia closer towards the European Union or NATO but rather distanced them.
Poland will continue to support Georgian democracy and the will of its citizens. We remember that Georgia led the reform process in previous years, and we hope it will return to that path,” the agency stated in a press release.
