**US Officials Head to Saudi Arabia for Ukraine Peace Talks**
Senior US officials are traveling to Saudi Arabia for peace talks with Russian and Ukrainian representatives. This was reported by Politico on February 15, based on information from a Republican lawmaker and two US officials who will be attending the meeting.
The talks have been planned since President Donald Trump said he was willing to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Saudi Arabia for peace negotiations. It’s not clear yet if Trump himself will join his top officials in Riyadh.
US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, and State Secretary are expected to attend the talks in the coming days. However, US special envoy Keith Kellogg will not be present, as he is currently at a European security conference and is scheduled to visit Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed his desire for peace, saying that Ukraine is “ready to move towards real and guaranteed peace as quickly as possible.” He also thanked US President Trump for his efforts to stop the war in Ukraine.
European officials will not be directly involved in the talks, but their interests will be considered. This was previously stated by US special envoy Keith Kellogg.
The exact details of the negotiations are still unclear, and it’s not known when they will start.
