**Most Ukrainians See Trump as Bad for Ukraine**
A recent survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology shows that 73% of Ukrainians think U.S. President Donald Trump is bad for their country.
This number has increased significantly since December, when only 21% saw him negatively. In fact, last year, after Trump was reelected but before he took office, 54% of Ukrainians believed he would have a positive impact on Ukraine.
**Shift in U.S. Policy**
The Trump administration has changed the way the U.S. government handles Ukraine. President Trump has sought to renew ties with Russia and broker a swift peace deal. He has also cut off military and intelligence support to Ukraine at times, which has been seen as an attempt to strong-arm Kyiv into ceasefire negotiations.
**Ukrainians Unhappy with Ceasefire Deal**
Between March 12 and 22, 55% of Ukrainians said they expect a rather or completely unjust peace deal from Trump. This number is up slightly from earlier in the month but significantly higher than December’s 31%.
Only 23% of Ukrainians believe that Trump would bring a just peace.
**Ukraine Seeks Support from Europe**
The survey also shows that Ukrainians now see Europe as a more reliable ally than the U.S. While 64% of respondents think European partners want Ukraine to achieve peace on acceptable terms, only 24% think this about the U.S.
**Kyiv Accuses Russia of Violating Ceasefire**
Ukraine has accused Russia of violating an energy ceasefire and doubts are being raised about a Black Sea ceasefire that was agreed upon in March. Moscow has linked its continuation to the lifting of some Western sanctions.
