**38% of Ukrainians Open to Territorial Concessions for Peace**
A recent survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) shows that 38% of Ukrainians are willing to give up some territory in order to end the war with Russia quickly. This is a significant increase from previous surveys, where only 19% were open to territorial concessions in December 2023.
The poll was conducted between December 2 and 17, 2024, and involved 2,000 respondents across Ukraine-controlled territories. The survey shows that while some Ukrainians are willing to compromise on territory for a faster peace deal, many others remain opposed to giving up any land “under no circumstances.”
**Ukraine’s Military Struggles**
The ongoing war has put a massive strain on the Ukrainian state, society, and military. President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged that Ukraine currently lacks the military strength to retake all of the occupied territories, and some regions like Crimea may have to be liberated through diplomacy.
**Russia’s Aggression Continues**
Russian forces continue to push forward in Donetsk Oblast and occupy around 20% of Ukrainian territory. In recent days, Russian attacks killed two people and injured at least 13 others in Ukraine.
