Salome Zurabishvili said in an interview with Formula TV that Bidzina is afraid of Russia. However, this is not a problem for the country, society, or this election.
Zurabishvili said that despite the fact the “Georgian Dream“, obeyed Russia at all times, Russia did not respond – “they closed Abkhazia and Ossetia”.
According to her explanation the question of reunification should be raised once the government is stable and the people have the trust in it.
“I think he [Bidzina] is also very scared of Russia today. He obeyed all directions and did everything asked of him. But, in reality, Russia didn’t do anything. The topic of Abkhazia-Ossetia had been closed. Every regime in Georgia that has a problem tries to survive by using this topic. When the government is stable and the people trust it, any attempt should be made. You can start thinking about a strategy in these conditions. Our union’s main strategy is still Europe and the European Union. Let’s join our people to these associations.
He (Bidzina) Ivanishvili is afraid of Russia. But this is neither a problem for the country nor society. Nor is it a problem for this election. We should decide on our future in a calm, peaceful, sane manner and leave his fears to him”, said Zurabishvili.
