**Protesters Attacked**
Citizens gathered on Rustaveli Avenue to protest a decision not to discuss joining the European Union with EU leaders until 2028. However, from around 22:30, police started using water cannons and tear gas to disperse the crowd. Many protesters were arrested and some were ill-treated.
**Government Response Criticized**
President Zurabishvili criticized the government’s response, saying it was similar to that of the Soviet Union. She also pointed out that a hotline had been set up for people to report anyone who disrupts the educational process.
