The Georgia I see in front of me is a free Georgia. No one came to the rally tonight because they had been told that they would lose their job.
She said that Georgians are attending today’s event who are entering Europe “in a peaceful, dignified, and Georgian manner,” a jab to the slogan of the ruling Georgian Dream.
“I greet you with love and emotion. Today will be a memorable day in the history Georgia for our children and grand-children. Gabriel, my grandson, was born today. I take this as a sign of a new Georgia and a future that is on the way. “The Georgia in front of me is a free Georgia.”
“Nothing is more valuable than freedom.” There is no greater value than freedom and peace. Here are Georgians entering Europe in a peaceful, dignified and Georgian manner. Today, we see the Georgia of yesterday and tomorrow. When I say yesterday, it is not the Georgia that was submerged in the Soviet clutches but the Georgia of our ancestors, and the Georgia of honorable history. “This Georgia and that Georgia are one and both will enter Europe with each other,” she said.
Freedom Square is the site of the rally ‘Georgia Chooses the European Union.’
The rally’s main goal is to show citizens’ support for the country’s European ambitions.
