**President Blasts Ruling Party‘s Confusion**
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili spoke out against the ruling party’s confusion during a briefing. She stated that the “Georgian Dream” party did not expect such a strong public reaction to their decision.
The President pointed out that the public is not just protesting on the streets, but also expressing disagreement in various sectors of society, including business and the church. These groups are opposing the ruling party’s illegitimate decision to put off negotiations with the European Union until 2028.
**Government Explanations Fall Short**
Zurabishvili said that despite government representatives’ explanations, the public is aware that the Prime Minister’s decision is a change in the country’s orientation. She emphasized that this means turning away from the EU and towards Russia.
The President dismissed the ruling party’s attempts to clarify their position as “completely vague” and ineffective. She stated that the public and international partners have already understood the implications of this decision, making further explanations unnecessary.
