Vasyl Bodnar, former Ukrainian ambassador to Turkiye, has been appointed as the head of the embassy in Poland
According to the presidential decrees published on Ukraine’s official website, Vasyl BODNAR, the former Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkiye has been appointed the new Ambassador to Poland.
Bodnar was appointed Ambassador to Poland by President Zelenskyy in a decree dated 25th October.
Bodnar has significant diplomatic experience with Polish-Ukrainian relationships, having served in Poland as a Ukrainian diplomat from 2006 to 2010.
He was also a deputy foreign minister from 2017 to 2021. After that, he took over the embassy in Turkiye and succeeded current Foreign Minister Andriy Shyba.
The appointment coincides with the evolution of bilateral relations between both countries. On 29 October, Polish President Andrzej duda stated that the reduced military aid from Poland to Ukraine could have affected bilateral relationships.
Warsaw is reportedly expecting certain concessions from Kyiv in return for their assistance.
