**President Zurabishvili Attacked with Eggs at Tbilisi Airport**
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili was attacked with eggs by government-paid thugs on her arrival at Tbilisi International Airport. She has filed a complaint and demanded an investigation into the incident.
The president described the attack as a ‘pre-organized’ act of violence, saying it was “the little spite of little men”. She noted that it was later justified by representatives of the ruling Georgian Dream party.
**President Criticizes Ruling Party**
Zurabishvili criticized the ruling party’s inability to lead and govern the country. She said that instead of taking repressive measures, they resort to throwing eggs at their opponents. This shows a sign of weakness, she added.
The president also expressed concern about the wider implications of the attack, pointing to the state’s failure to maintain security and order. She questioned how such incidents could take place in a central location like the airport and highlighted the inability of authorities to prevent politically motivated violence.
**Security Concerns**
Zurabishvili underlined that a functioning state provides security for everyone, even those with different political views. She said that the state should maintain order and security for all citizens, regardless of their politics.
The president thanked Georgian society and international partners for their support and promised to give a thorough interview to Formula TV about her meetings at the Munich Security Conference.
**Similar Attack on Opposition Leader**
This incident follows a similar attack on Giorgi Gakharia, leader of the opposition party For Georgia. Despite the presence of police officers at Tbilisi International Airport, they reportedly did not intervene.
