According to Prime Minister Irakli Kakahidze, Georgia’s economic growth in the next few years will exceed that predicted by the International Monetary Fund.
He announced it at the meeting of the government.
“I would like a response to the updated forecast by the International Monetary Fund concerning economic growth. This is the updated medium-term forecast for this year, which states that in 2024 Georgia’s economy will grow the most in the region and Europe. In the medium-term, 2024-2029 the country will also have the highest growth in the region and in Europe as a whole. This is the result of our effective economic policies implemented by the team. I want to thank you all for this. This year’s forecast was 2.5 times higher than similar indicators in other EU candidate countries.
For the years 2024-2029 our advantage is 1.6. This means that our forecast is 1.6 higher than forecasts provided by other candidate countries. It is our task to accelerate this pace. We have always exceeded forecasts presented by the International Monetary Fund. We are confident, even now, that our economic growth is going to be higher than the forecast by the International Monetary Fund. We have a well-planned, written program that says the country’s economic growth will be greater than 130 billion dollars by 2028. We have specific programs and projects for this and we are confident that we will achieve this goal”, said Irakli Kobakhidze.
