Irakli Kobakhidze commented on the recent resolution of the European Parliament, calling it unjust and lacking in any real value.
In a media interview, he criticised the resolution, saying it was the same “straw-price” as the three previous similar resolutions passed after the beginning of the war in Ukraine. He said that the document will be just as ineffective.
Kobakhidze attributed the influence of the “Global War Party” on these resolutions, suggesting that certain forces were frustrated by Georgia‘s refusal to enter the war.
“Such facts about the resolution and the European Parliament are probably not shocking to anyone. The picture we saw again in the European Parliament. Three different resolutions have been passed by the European parliament since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. This is the fourth such resolution. Here is the hand that we call the Global War Party. It is clear that certain forces are unable to accept the fact that there was no second front in the country and that the war didn’t happen. This is a last-ditch effort to create a scenario. This discussion took place at the European Parliament because they are hoping for parliamentary elections. This resolution was adopted to this end, even though this attempt by these forces is doomed for failure. The Georgian society has learned much about what is going on around us, which forces are operating and with what interests these forces are attempting to act against our country. Our fellow citizens have also learned.
Kobakhidze concluded the resolution’s main goal was to punish “Georgian Dream”, while protecting the opposition, “National Movement.” He argued that this stance is unjust and irrelevant for Georgia’s current political landscape.
“The injustice of the resolution is very obvious.” Again, there is talk about punishing the “Georgian Dream” and again, there is talk about protecting the “National Movement”. This is the main redline that runs through this entire resolution. Unjust documents are of no use to us. It is worth the same as the previous resolutions and this resolution will also be ineffective,” said the Prime Minister.
