And then the relations with the European Union, which will be overloaded. – Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, head of election staff for “Georgian Dream”, told journalists the head of foreign political department at the European Union.
According to the Prime Minster, comparing Georgia with Moldova is like putting ashes into the eyes because, as Kobakhidze explained there is no media and political pluralism in Moldova.
“These statements are temporary and we will not pay attention to them. After the election, the war in Ukraine is over and the EU relations are reset. The comparison between Georgian and Moldovan is insulting. You know that Georgia is far ahead of Moldova on all parameters, be it democracy or human rights. We have increased the economic difference between Georgia and Moldova by $9 billion. This is due, among other reasons, to the fact that unlike Moldova, our state institutions are very strong.
In terms of democracy and human right, I’d like to remind you, one after another, political parties and media outlets were prohibited in Moldova. There are two media outlets broadcasting nationwide. This is the Public Broadcaster’s first and second channels. There is no longer any media pluralism or political pluralism. It is only natural to throw ashes into the eyes of a country that has been moved in a negative direction. However, this cannot harm our country. I repeat – the elections, the war in Ukraine, and the relations with the European Union, will all end.
The authoritarianism that existed in Georgia up until 2012 is gone, and our team can be proud to have seen it end. These statements are false and inaccurate, so they will not cost our population anything”, said Kobakhidze.
