**Students Block Major Belgrade Bridge to Support Educators**
Yesterday, a three-hour blockade of Branko’s Bridge took place in Belgrade. The protest was organized by students who marched from different parts of the city to converge at the bridge.
The students held banners and flags with slogans like “Rebellious University, Rebel Yourself” and “Future Educators Are Here.” They also carried Serbian flags. Despite the rain, the atmosphere was lively, with music and performances on the bridge.
The blockade was a show of support for educators from Belgrade schools. Representatives from the IT community attended the event and delivered speeches. They emphasized that they are learning from the educators during this difficult time.
The IT professionals also sent a message to the educators saying “You Are Not Alone.” A symbolic “Thread of Solidarity” was handed from one side of the bridge to the other, representing their support for the educators.
**Remembering Victims**
During the blockade, 19 minutes of silence were held for the victims of the May 3, 2023 Belgrade school shooting and the May 4, 2023 mass shootings in Malo Orasje and Dubona. Nineteen white roses were placed in the Sava River to honor their memory.
Later, another 16 minutes of silence were held for the victims of the November 1 canopy collapse at Novi Sad main train station. The names of the victims were read out loud, and 16 white roses were thrown from the bridge.
