Protesters Outside Parliament Building
Protesters spent last night near the Georgian Parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue. They have set up tents and are currently blocking only this one street.
Other entrances to the Parliament are clear of protesters, but police are present at all entrances. The streets April 9 and Chichinadze are also blocked by police.
Police forces are also deployed in Freedom Square nearby. Special equipment from the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been brought in.
Important Date: Today is a big day. A new session of Parliament will start at noon today. Protesters do not accept the recent election results and think the new Parliament is not legitimate. They want to make it hard for the ruling party members to work.
