**Miners’ Families and Supporters Protest Unresolved Case**
A group of people gathered in front of the Ministry of Labor in Belgrade on Tuesday to protest the unresolved case of eight miners who died in a methane gas explosion at the Soko coal mine three years ago. The protesters are demanding that the government take action to protect miners and workers‘ rights.
**Three Years Since the Tragic Accident**
On April 1, it was the third anniversary of the tragic accident at the Soko coal mine, where eight miners were killed and at least 20 others injured in a methane gas explosion. The protesters are calling for justice and accountability for those responsible.
**Protesters Demand Action**
“We are primarily calling for the Ministry of Labor to live up to its name,” said Bojan Terzic from the Solidarity political platform. “We want to know who is responsible for the deaths of eight miners three years ago.” Terzic noted that over 14 workers have died in the past 10 months during the current Minister’s term, and there have been no improvements regarding workers’ rights.
**Key Issue: Labor Law**
Terzic pointed out that the key issue for workers in Serbia is the Labor Law, which he claims needs to be amended. He said that they are now likely trying to speak with the labor minister for the tenth time, but have not received any response.
