**Belgrade Protesters Demand Release of Detained Demonstrators**
A crowd of people from 10 Belgrade municipalities marched to the Higher Public Prosecution offices in downtown Belgrade. They want the protesters arrested earlier that day to be released.
The protest happened after private security guards beat up demonstrators outside the City Assembly building. This was during a session where opposition councilors disrupted the meeting by singing the Serbian national anthem. The ruling coalition councilors refused to join in.
**Thousands Demand Justice**
Reporters said there were thousands of people at the Palace of Justice, where the prosecution offices are located. They carried signs with slogans like “We Want Justice – Not Threats” and “We Don’t Want Arrests“. The protesters wanted the earlier arrested demonstrators released.
The crowd observed a minute’s silence in memory of those who died in the Novi Sad Railway Station tragedy. This is a common practice at daily protests in Belgrade. After the silence, people lit up their cell phone lights, blew whistles, and drummed for another 15 minutes.
