**Public Defender Speaks Out Against Police Violence**
The public defender in Georgia has spoken out against the methods used by police during arrests. According to Levan Ioseliani, many of those arrested have reported being beaten and improperly treated.
Ioseliani said that his representatives visited several detainees, including Nika Gvaramia, Gela Khasaia, and Zurab Datunashvili. They found evidence of physical and verbal abuse during the arrest process.
**Violence Reported by Detainees**
Nika Gvaramia claimed that he was arrested illegally and physically abused by police officers. He also reported being verbally abused.
Gela Khasaia demanded to call an ambulance after being detained, but it took police several attempts to get medical help for him.
**Public Defender Takes Action**
The public defender’s office has applied to the Special Investigation Service to investigate these allegations of police violence.
Ioseliani noted that videos taken by media outlets show police using methods that go beyond standard procedures. He emphasized that this kind of behavior is disturbing and alarming.
**Investigation Launched**
Aleko Elisashvili, who was arrested yesterday, was found to have injuries on his face and back. The public defender’s office has informed the Special Investigation Service about this case, and they will be monitoring the investigation.
