The agreement also strengthens cooperation in security and defense between Russia and Iran. If one of the parties is subjected to aggression, the other will not provide any assistance to the aggressor. This move comes after a similar partnership agreement was signed with North last June.

**Deeper Partnerships and Disaster Relief**

Moscow and Tehran have agreed to deepen partnerships between their special services and assist each other in natural and man-made disasters. The strategic agreement is concluded 20 years, with automatic extension for subsequent 5-year periods.
