Lithuanian MEP Speaks Out on Georgia’s Crisis
Rasa Juknevičienė, a Lithuanian Member of the European Parliament, says that only new and transparent elections can help Georgia get out of its current crisis.
According to her, the recent inauguration of Kavelashvili is not legitimate. She believes that Salome Zourabichvili remains the only true leader of Georgia.
Juknevičienė thinks that Georgia’s situation is connected to Russia’s war against Europe. The most important battles are being fought in Ukraine, and the world must decide what to do next. There are only two options: either win the war or accept Russia as an aggressive republic.
The Lithuanian MEP also praises the US for taking a step forward by imposing sanctions on Ivanishvili and recognizing him as a tool of Russian policy in Georgia. Now it’s time for the EU to take action, Juknevičienė says.
