**Lithuania Wants Georgia in EU**
A Lithuanian politician visited Georgia and said it’s time for the country to join the European Union. Rasa Juknevičienė, a member of the European Parliament from Lithuania, met with reporters in Tbilisi.
According to her, some people say that no one is waiting for Georgia in the EU. But she disagrees. She believes that Georgia joining the EU would be good for both countries. She thinks that if Georgia doesn’t join the EU, it will only remain under Russia’s influence.
**But There’s a Condition**
However, Juknevičienė also said that Georgia’s ruling party must change its behavior before joining the EU. Over the past few years, the government has used violence to maintain power. This is not acceptable for the EU, she said.
The politician emphasized that the people of Georgia are fighting for the same values as Lithuanians and Europeans. She supports those who want democracy and freedom in Georgia.
