According to the MEP Bidzina ivanishvili is the honorary chair of “Georgian Dream“, and “the most significant reason why Georgia is currently in such a challenging situation”.
“Bidzina Ivanishvili, of course, is one, or, I would say, is the most important, reason why Georgia is currently in such a challenging situation. I am referring to the future of Georgia. We can see that his words and the decisions taken by his government are incompatible with European Union values and requirements.
Georgian Dream’s actions have put a stop to any further steps towards [EU] Membership, whether official or unofficial. All of their actions show they are not taking the necessary steps [for EU Membership]. You cannot support both Europe and the Kremlin. Rasa Yukneviciane says that what BidzinaIvanishvili and other officials have to say about the European parliament is the Kremlin narrative.
Rasa Jukneviciene, in the same interview, said about the resolution adopted on October 9 by the European Parliament: “Bribery is not a European Value and it does NOT happen in the European Parliament.”
“As to the payment of money and any other charges. I’m afraid that they [“Georgian Dream”) think about other people as they behave. If they think that it’s possible to bribe voters here, like Bidzina is trying to do, I will say that this is not a European value and that this doesn’t happen in the European Union parliament. Nearly 500 [parliamentarians] supported the resolution. It’s a big deal, it’s a statement, and you can’t buy it,” the European Parliamentarian told “Voice of America”.
