Oleh Huliak’s military background is considered crucial for understanding the Ukrainian defense forces’ needs.
The press service of Ukrainian Defense Industry (Ukroboronprom), a state-owned conglomerate in the defense industry, announced on 21 Oct that retired General Oleh Hulik has been appointed as its new CEO.
Ukroboronprom, a joint stock company, unites 130+ state owned multi-profile enterprises in various sectors of Ukraine’s defense industry. After Russia’s full-scale invasion in Ukraine in 2022, the company had to relocate its production overseas and has partnered with several Western firms, such as Rheinmetall, to increase domestic military production and meet battlefield demand during the ongoing war.
Odgers Berndtson is an international executive search firm. Three finalists were selected from a list of more than 20 candidates. The supervisory board interviewed these candidates and selected Huliak to fill the role.
David Lomjaria (chairman of the Ukroboronprom Supervisory Board) emphasized the importance Huliak’s military background.
